Celebrating 40 Years of Learning, Growth, and Community
This year, Building Blocks Preschool proudly celebrates 40 years of providing high-quality early childhood education to children and families in our community.
Since Kathleen McCarthy opened Building Blocks in 1986, we have remained committed to creating a nurturing, engaging environment where children develop a lifelong love of learning. Over the past four decades, thousands of children have taken their first educational steps here, supported by dedicated teachers, caring staff, and strong partnerships with families.
Our 40th anniversary is an opportunity to reflect on the relationships, memories, and milestones that have shaped Building Blocks into the special place it is today. Many of our former students have returned over the years as parents, bringing a new generation of children to experience the same warm, welcoming community they remember.
As we celebrate this milestone, we extend our heartfelt thanks to our current and former families, staff members, and community partners whose support and commitment have made the past 40 years possible. Your trust and dedication have helped Building Blocks grow into a place where children thrive.
We look forward to continuing our mission for many years to come—providing young learners with a strong foundation, fostering curiosity and confidence, and helping every child build the skills they need for future success.
Here’s to 40 years of learning, laughter, and lasting memories and to the exciting future ahead!
Remembering September 11th
At Building Blocks Preschool, we believe that even our youngest children can learn the importance of kindness, compassion, and caring for others.
On September 11th, our preschool friends gathered at our flag for a special remembrance. Our “bigger kids” from Ladybug Lane proudly partnered with our “littles” from Apple Ave, demonstrating that caring for others can begin with the simplest acts of friendship and kindness.
Together, we talked about the community helpers who care for and protect our communities and reflected on the importance of helping others, being kind, and looking out for the people around us.
Our children participated in the Pledge of Allegiance, sang We Love Our Flag and The Star-Spangled Banner, and concluded our gathering with a quiet moment of silence for remembrance.
It was a meaningful opportunity to help our children understand that being a helper, showing kindness, and caring for others are important ways we can contribute to a strong and caring community.
We are incredibly proud of our little ones for participating with such respect, thoughtfulness, and heart. ❤️🤍💙
