Building Blocks Preschool and Kindergarten was established in 1986 by Kathleen McCarthy, a former Lowell Public School Teacher. She began in the basement of St. Marie’s in Lowell and 16 years later moved 1 mile north to our current location. We take pride in our dedication to continually offering a neighborhood center where learning and care can flourish for children, staff and families.
We offer classes for children ages 2.9 through kindergarten, including a transitional kindergarten for those children born in the fall and don’t make the cut-off for kindergarten. We operate on a traditional school year calendar. We offer half-day (8:40-12:30pm), full-day (7-4pm) and an extended day option until 5pm.
2026–2027 Registration is Now Open!
Enrollment for the 2026–2027 school year is now open to the public. Please download, print, and complete the registration form, then return it along with a copy of your child’s most recent physical and the $75 registration fee (one fee per family).
